Scanning Instructions.

Find your scanner program and open it. The scanner menu or toolbar should appear on your screen. You may need to wait for the scanner to warm up. Then place your photo face down on the glass and close the
lid. The image may appear on the screen. If not, click on "preview" or "refresh." Once the image is on the screen, you must select the area you want to scan. Look for a dotted line around the image. If it is not there, click in the upper left corner of the image, hold down the cursor, and drag it to the lower right corner of the image. When you let go, the dotted line should appear.

Enter the settings to scan at 300 resolution and in color (even if the photo is black and white). Then choose scan from the menu, and check to see that the settings are OK. When your scan is complete, save it as a JPG file. Give it a name and add .jpg to the end. Each scanner is a little different but the basic steps are similar. With a little practice, you will learn how your own scanner works.

When you are ready to send us your image, click on browse and look for the name of your file. When you locate it, click on the name and then open it. The name should appear in the space next to the browse button. Finally, click on submit, and your file will be sent to us automatically. You will receive an email telling you that we have it.
